FX's crime drama television series, Sons of Anarchy, had aired its finale episode for its last season on December 2014. Since then fans of the show have been eagerly waiting for an update from the network since it had announced before that a prequel and a spin-off are discussed.
Earlier this November, FX had officially announced that the spin-off, Mayans MC is currently in development. Fans and followers of the original series have long been wondering if actor Charlie Hunnam will return. He portrayed the main protagonist, Jackson 'Jax' Teller, the president of Sons of Anarchy mother charter from the first up to the final season.
But according to a recent report, several sources have been saying that it is rather unlikely for Hunnam to return in the spin-off Mayans MC. The 36-year old actor reportedly mentioned that he is would be willing to reprise his role but the producers have not found ways to fit him in the spin-off.
It can be recalled that Jax Teller died in the finale episode of season 7, the final season of the series, when he made the ultimate choice of sacrifice to save his children. With this, it has been speculated that the chance of Hunnam returning for the spin-off is close to impossible.
However, fans are still positive that the network will make future announcements about the involvement of the actor. Comic Book reported that a possible prequel of the show will give clues as to whether Jax Teller's involvement will be possible. But then again, there are still no updates regarding the prequel until no and fans are just waiting for the network to do so.
Meanwhile, it has also been reported by the aforementioned source that the spin-off, Mayans MC, will focus on the Latino Biker Club and will reportedly have a more violent and darker story than the original series.
The Sons of Anarchy spin-off series Mayan MC executive producer, Kurt Sutter had added, "It will be a darker, a deep-rooted family drama that will showcase the Latino voice."
