Hit television musical series "Glee," currently on a break and in its fifth season, is moving to New York City, Fox's Programming President Kevin Reilly revealed to Entertainment News.
Reilly also confirmed the rumor that next season will be the final season. The show, which will return Feb. 25, went on a hiatus after the tragic death of cast member Corey Monteith in July 2013, who played "Fin" on the show.
The show's creator, Ryan Murphy, "pitched the arc all the way through the next season," Reilly told Entertainment News.
"What's going to happen this year is the kids will graduate and we're going to go to New York exclusively through the second half of the year, and then he's got some ideas about what we're going to do next year for the final year."
The show is developing plans for some of the high school characters' story lines to continue on in New York, some characters, but not all.
"Some are going to be graduating and moving on," Reilly told Entertainment News. "Creatively, it would ridiculous if everybody moved to New York, so there's going to be some who are going to graduate and move on. And they'll come back in when we do special episodes."
Reilly went on to explain that all of the show's beloved characters will never truly be gone.
"They'll always be a part of it, and I think the way it's going to dovetail next season is you'll see some familiar faces coming around in some capacity," Reilly told Entertainment News, "We're not going to be in Ohio for more than a few."
Though some of the characters are leaving, Jane Lynch, who plays an eccentric and ill-tempered cheerleader coach, isn't going anywhere.
"As long as there's a show, there's Jane Lynch," Reilly told Entertainment News.
