The Los Angeles Clippers and Golden State Warriors are doing great at the start of the regular season. And it seems that they will continue to dominate the league as both teams are in the upper half of the team standing in the Western Conference division. However, rumors are spreading that there will be a big movement on the roster of both teams after the season involving guards Stephen Curry and Chris Paul.
Curry, who is playing another MVP form as of now, is averaging 26.7 points, 6.1 assists and 4.2 rebounds after 17 games will be a free agent after the season. And with Kevin Durant, Andre Iguodala , and Shaun Livingston will also hit the free agency market in 2017, many believed that the Warriors don't have enough cap space to take all players' salary.
Though Curry has already expressed his desire to re-sign with the team, many speculate that the Warriors will still choose Durant over Curry after the season. And with this impending scenario, the Warriors might choose Paul to take over Curry's spot.
According to iTech Post, both teams are rumored to be moving their best players that will enhance their lineup. It is said that the Los Angeles Clippers are determined to dethrone the Golden State Warriors as West champs and face the Cleveland Cavaliers in the NBA Finals. And to do that, they might need the help of Stephen Curry who've been in that position last year.
The report also says that Curry might perform well in a Clippers uniform since he will play alongside Blake Griffin and DeAndre Jordan who are operating down low. Griffin and Jordan's inside presence will make Curry open in the three-point arc where he will not hesitate to shoot.
As for Chris Paul, he will help the Warriors fixed their defensive play as per stated in the report. Paul is the leader in steals as of this moment with 2.88 steals per game aside from being one of the best in assists with 8.9 assists per game. If the Curry-Paul swap is close to impossible, both teams might consider acquiring both players in free agency after the season.
Earlier reports have linked both teams and both players in a trade deal this month. However, the Warriors and Clippers still stick with Curry and Paul as both players are performing well and helping their teams gaining winning record as of late.
Will Golden State Warriors' Stephen Curry and Los Angeles Clippers' Chris Paul change teams after this season?
