Wisconsin (16-0) remains undefeated after a 95-70 win on Saturday against Illinois. Sophomore forward Sam Dekker is owed credit for the Badgers' success; he leads the team in both points (14.3) and rebounds (6.3) per game.
The team also improved in passing, which Hoosiers coach Tom Crean attributes to the Badgers' record this season.
"They have always put excellent shooters on the court," Crean said, via ESPN. "I think what you have now, and what is a little different to me, is that they are not an above average passing team, they are a great passing team."
Besides staying undefeated, a win on Tuesday would make third-ranked Wisconsin the first team to record 13 straight wins against Indiana, according to ESPN.
"I didn't know the numbers, the players certainly never hear it from us," said Badgers coach Bo Ryan. "I just don't dwell on that kind of domain. We just prepare for the next opponent, and we don't say - I don't try to get my guys ready to play somebody by using anything other than the facts, the stats, here it is. Here's what we've got to do. This guy likes to do this for them. This guy likes to do that. Here's what we have to do better."
Indiana (11-5) snapped a two-game losing streak on Saturday with a 79-76 victory over Penn State. The Hoosiers are still going through growing pains with their young team but, with talented freshman such as Troy Williams and Noah Vonleh, have shown improvement over the season.
"When you see how athletic they are and you see their freshman, their younger guys and what they can do physically, their record might not be the same as it was last year," said Ryan. "But teams get better. Their comeback against Penn State, Penn State's really tough at home. They didn't waver. They did what they had to do to come back. So that's how they've matured already."
