Motorola announced Tuesday that its flagship Moto X smartphone will be made available in the United Kingdom, France and Germany starting February 1, but only in two color options.
Motorola, a Google-owned Company, will be bringing its highly-praised Moto X smartphone to the customers in the United Kingdom, France and Germany. The flagship smartphone's debut follows a positive response to the low-priced Moto G smartphone in Europe. Android-based Moto X will sell through multiple national carriers, including Phone House, O2, Amazon.de, Media Markt, Saturn, Expert and Sparhandy.de, starting Feb.1, 2014.
Motorola broke the news of the phone's availability in Europe in the company's blog post, Tuesday. Moto X is well-known for its Touchless Controls that help users interact with their smartphones without lifting a finger and its great battery. Motorola is the only company that lets users customize their smartphones before purchasing them through Moto X maker, but unfortunately for its European debut the phone will only be available in two color options.
Motorola will sell the Moto X in Europe SIM-free and through leading U.K. retailers including Carphone Warehouse, Amazon and Techdata. In the U.K., the 16GB version of the Moto X white color will sell for £380 ($620 approx.), while carriers will offer the phone for £25 ($41) a month with a new contract. The black color will be available exclusively through Phones 4U and the white color will be widely available.
In Germany, the Moto X will go for sale with a €399 ($546) price tag for both black and white color 16GB models.
The American-built smartphone will run the latest Android 4.4 KitKat and features a 4.7-inch 720p AMOLED display, 2GB of RAM, a 2,200 mAh battery, 10-megapixel rear facing camera with LED flash and the company's latest X8 Computing System chip.
In the U.S., Motorola has been more than generous in offering its Moto X. Earlier this month, the price of the smartphone was permanently brought down to $399 without a contract and just last week the company bundled a free Chromecast dongle with every purchase of Moto X contract-free smartphone.
