Taiwanese tech company HTC is out to make its mark. Getting its new product engaged against market leader Samsung will be no easy task.
Still, this duel can be quite interesting as the HTC 10 will have its power capacity bared and evaluated. The South Korean tech manufacturer may have slipped recently with its Galaxy Note 7 fiasco but with the arrival of its S7 unit, the organization is definitely back on track.
It cannot be denied that the items of the Korean-based company have almost always been seen as the benchmark of next-generation phone products. The Samsung Galaxy S7 is no different.
In the category of power sufficiency, the Samsung flagship can manage regular function up to 24 hours. Its 3,000mAh lithium ion cell provides users around 22 hours of talk time and 62 hours of music performance.
During its charging process, the Galaxy S7 completes its full cycle within an hour and fifteen minutes. Restriction proximal to an electrical outlet has also been ruled out considering that the unit has wireless charging support.
Meanwhile, the HTC 10 brings about 27 call hours with 456 more on standby. Based on a report from Trusted Reviews, the device joins the Galaxy S7 and the LG G5 on the list of android phones that are equipped with a 3,000mAh battery.
Although the Taiwanese firm has postulated that its power cell can survive a couple of days, it is likely that the item is able to sustain its life on a time-table that is less than that. However, only a four percent drop in energy is incurred when the HTC 10 gets through the night unused.
Compared to the Samsung S7, the Taiwanese product has no wireless charging support. However, its Quick Charge 3.0 more than makes up for its cordless deficiency since the smartphone is able to attain a full cycle charge in less than an hour.
During a performance test hosted by TechRadar, both devices have been subjected to internet browsing, video playback and gaming sessions. After half an hour of video action, the HTC unit's energy is down to 41 percent while the Samsung item has 46 percent left on its bar.
When subjected to an hour and a half of gaming prowess, the Galaxy S7 battery has 10 percent of power remaining while the HTC unit barely survived with 3 percent of energy left. Under extreme functioning, the Samsung device has endured more than 5 hours of workload. Meantime, in less than five hours, the 10 handset has been drained.
