Even on revelation day, the competition between Microsoft and Apple continues to be tight as the two tech companies almost announced their new products at the same time. A day after the Redmond-based group declares that it will be releasing an item with an Intel core i7 processor, the Cupertino-based organization also divulges that the new MacBook Pro brand with touch bar technology will be in the market soon.
The battle between two sophisticated notebook computers is more than just about designs and presentations. This duel also focuses heavily on performance efficiency.
Microsoft's i7-powered Surface Book will be dueling against Apple's MacBook Pro in fields that matter most. Whether it's about video editing or gaming operations or 3D applications, delving deeper into what each can offer should be quite entertaining.
Aside from the powerful processor, Microsoft has added a 16GB RAM and a 1TB SSD that matches well with the sixth-generation Sky Lake dual core chip. More than that, a highly-efficient GeForce GTX 965M GPU has also been embedded to boost the graphics presentation of the unit.
Apple is offering three contrasting models. The first one is equipped with the i7 processor. This is loaded with 16GB of LPDDR/2133 with a 256GB SSD.
These two brands, which are driven by the i5 dual core, have a major difference. One is equipped with a touch-screen system. Its specifications include 8GB of LPDDR/1866.
Meanwhile, the second has the touch-less bar capability which also replaces the function keys. Its LPDDR/2133 contains 8GB.
Like its predecessors, the MacBook assumes a slim and light frame. It is 0.59 inches thick and weighs three pounds. It should be noted that Apple has remained incorporating the aluminum design segment that has made most of the tech giant's devices alluring.
On the other hand, the Surface Book presents a magnesium-laden body with a prominent juncture and a higher display. It is heavier at 3.63 pounds but thinner with its 0.51-inch measurement.
Compared to the compact design of the MacBook Pro, observers point out that the Surface's swivel can be a problem judging that the screen and the keyboard will have quite a gap. However, putting on a sleeve after using can probably address this issue.
