After the first Test resulted in a draw, Sri Lanka came back and won the second contest by nine wickets. Mahela Jayawardene earned the Man of the Match for his performance in the lengthy match, scoring a game-high 129 runs in Sri Lanka's first innings. The side's bowlers shined throughout the second Test, accumulating wickets (20 total) to help Sri Lanka take the lead in the series.

"Our seamers bowled better than their seamers, so we got more wickets than them, having confusion it's always good for us, it worked but I think we have to start well once again and can't be complacent against Pakistan," Sri Lanka skipper Angelo Mathews said, via CricBuzz.com.

Pakistan's batsmen were inconsistent, but they were able to get more contributions from their lineup in the second innings, including 97 runs from skipper Misbah-ul-Haq.

Pakistan could use a big performance from Saeed Ajmal on the bowling front, and the off-spinner is confident it will come.

"I am doing the hard work and will bounce back," said Ajmal. "The ball isn't spinning and they are playing cautiously. If I had got some spin, the result would have been different."
