HBO recently renewed "Westworld" for a second season after its first installment made noise and got sky-high ratings. As they are now preparing, stars of the show Luke Hemsworth and Jeffrey Wright talked about the upcoming "Westworld" Season 2 at the Dubai International Film Festival on Sunday.
Wright revealed that the first season of the science fiction television series is "creating order" while the sequel will feature "mayhem and chaos." "There are political implications and overtones [in 'Westworld']; there is this patriarchal structure and this corporate structure around it that is really vulnerable now. It is the target of the revolution," he added.
Hemsworth, on the other hand, that he loved the idea of incorporating the samurai world in the first season finale, Hollywood Reporter reported. "The first season was just an intro, a prequel. The world is going to obviously get a lot bigger somehow," he described about the possible storyline of "Westworld" Season 2.
In fact, the Jonathan Nolan television series' creator Lisa Joy revealed to the Los Angeles Times that the said samurai world is really destined to be featured in the show. To recall, Maeve Millay (Thandie Newton) was carrying a paper that held her daughter's location in the last season's finale.
Joy explained that there was indeed a little hint that Park 1 was only the beginning, thus the exploration will continue. The mysteries "Westworld" has will be discovered by the show's characters and will be unveiled in the upcoming second installment.
Meanwhile, it looks like fans still have to wait a little longer for "Westworld" Season 2. Nolan recently announced that the new chapter will take over a year to be completed as they have a lot of preparations to do.
Most likely, the western thriller television series "Westworld" will return in 2018 on HBO.
