Close watchers of the Rihanna-Chris Brown patch up might feel happy that she has reconciled with one ex-flame, at least. But they still need to be a bit cautious about jumping to conclusions.
Earlier, Drake had said - with a touch of swagger, it is obvious - that he is feuding with Chris Brown due to the rival's insecurity. "His insecurities are the fact that I make better music than him, that I'm more popping than him and that at one point in life the woman that he loves fell into my lap."
Drake's words can be taken with a pinch of salt. After all, their feud is like a stag fight. But Rihanna, on the other hand, has patched up with Chris Brown due to his change of heart.
Yet, are things really what they seem to be? Has Chris Brown come clean? Well, that is what he says. But will he really keep away from controversies?
Some inside sources are sure that he will. "He's moodier and more serious, but he's much softer and a borderline feminist these days," says one friend. He is convinced that Rihanna has really come close to him. "They're talking every day again and have met up a few times."
For a star who left his girlfriend battered and bruised in 2009, the slightest change of heart would seem to be really big. Yet, how complete is it, really?
Drake, at least, still dismisses Brown, explain sources. "Chris is known to pop off on people at the drop of a dime and surrounds himself with people from the wrong side of the tracks. Drake's going to be taking extra precautions when he's in LA."
Brown's change is also not as much as Rihanna wants. Recently Brown didn't seem to have fulfilled all her expectations. He "banged on Drake," which let down Rihanna's aspirations. She felt hugely disappointed, say rumors.
"Chris Brown, 27, has been doing so well and keeping his a** out of trouble and Ri's been so proud of him up until he banged on Drake," a source close to Rihanna told Hollywood Life. ""She's disappointed Chris is still affiliated with those people and can't believe he's throwing up gang signs for the world to see."
Rihanna might be happy that Brown is better than he was. But he still doesn't come up to her level of expectations. "She's cool on Drake and is not sticking up for him or coming to his rescue. That's Taylor's [Swift] job. She's just more disappointed in Chris."
If that is the case, Rihanna treads on thin ice, isn't it? So all you fans who have been longing for their reunion need to keep your fingers crossed and not raise your hopes too much. Either Chris Brown has to up his ante, or Rihanna has to lower the bar.
