Chrysler is adopting a sportier look for its all-new 2015 200 model taking on the mid-size sedan segment with its elegant design and impressive new technology.
Chrysler has added a newest member to its wide range of cars. The all-new Chrysler 200, unveiled at the 2014 North American International Auto Show in Detroit this week, features a new design and the latest technology. The car has a sporty look on the outside with matching interiors, quite different from its predecessors. The 2015 200 Sedan will take on the wide mid-size sedan platform shared with the newest Jeep Cherokee and the next-generation Alfa Romeo Giulia.
Chrysler's 200 features new technology, built at the company's Michigan plant. The entry-level model comes with 181bhp Tigershark 2.4-litre four cylinder engine that can spark 184 horsepower and 173 lb.-ft. of torque. It uses Fiat's MultiAir valve technology. To add more juice to it, Chrysler throws in an optional 3.6-liter Pentastar V-6 engine bested at 295 horsepower and 262 lb.-ft. of torque.
Chrysler 200 does not stop at the impressive heart features, but has other high-tech features too. The new model comes with a standard front-wheel setup, but the optional all-wheel-drive system can decouple the rear axle to boost mileage.
"The all-new 2015 Chrysler 200 will be the new benchmark for mid-size sedans with an exceptional driving experience, fuel economy of up to 35 mpg highway and exquisite craftsmanship," Al Gardner, President and CEO of Chrysler Brand, Chrysler Group LLC, said in a press release. "The all-new Chrysler 200 lays the groundwork for the future of the Chrysler Brand with a timeless, elegant design; clever functionality; a standard nine-speed automatic transmission; a class-leading all-wheel-drive system; more than 60 safety and security features and a host of new technology drivers and passengers will value."
The exterior justifies the sportiness in the Chrysler 200, as the company claims it debuts the new "face of Chrysler." The new company badge is embedded on the dark matte finished grille, jammed between the two headlights with optional LED daytime running lamps (DRL) and fog lamps in the low division. The rear-end is integrated with dual exhausts, LED tail lamps, and sporty gloss black trim and accent pieces in place of the standard bright trim.
Additionally, the Chrysler 200 sedan guarantees safety with Adaptive Cruise Control, Full-speed Forward Collision Warning and LaneSense/Lane Departure Warning. It also features Park Assist that helps drivers park safely in compact spaces. Other safety features include electronic stability control, electronic roll mitigation, four-wheel anti-lock disc brakes, ParkSense rear backup sensors, ParkView rear backup camera, blind-spot monitoring, Rear Crosspath Detection and more, Chrysler said in its press release.
The fascinating features in the Chrysler 200 come with a price tag of $21,700, plus $995 destination fees in the U.S. The 200 will arrive in the second quarter of this year in four different models; the LX, Limited, 200S and 200C.
