Authorities in New Jersey are working to rescue a man who got stuck in a 24-inch pipe at a United Water plant, NBC News reported.
Employees at the Manalapan facility "heard cries for help" early Friday morning according to Rich Henning, a spokesman for the water company. It was not immediately known how the trespasser got on to the property or why he was there.
Henning added the water supply was not affected by the incident.
A report by News 12 New Jersey said firefighters requested a specialized technical search and rescue team to the facility for help. In addition, a medical helicopter has been called to transport the victim.
Manalapan Mayor Jordan Maskowitz said the man has been stuck since 2:30 a.m. in a section of the pipe called the "elbow" because of the bending shape.
Maskowitz added that the police are aware of who is stuck inside but would not elaborate further.
