Kate Gosselin has taken to her official Twitter account to defend her daughters', twins Mady and Cara, behavior during their "Today" show interview.
Unlike father Jon Gosselin who claims his daughter froze up in fear of their mother, Kate claims the twins had a case of stage fright. The mother of 8 took to social media to thank the "Today" show for hosting an interview with them.
"Thanks to @TODAYshow for having Cara, Mady and me on the show today! 1st live interview can render even the gabbiest girls speechless," Kate tweeted to her followers.
Some Twitter users believed Kate's post was a sign she was in "damage control" mode for her kids' awkward behavior on live television.
"@Kateplusmy8 @TODAYshow Damage control mode already? Please don't subject them to that again. Sincerely, a concerned mom," one user tweeted.
"@Kateplusmy8 @TODAYshow Wow! Obviously they didn't want to be there...way to prove its all about you and the almighty dollar," another responded to Kate's tweet.
Another user claimed Cara and Mady were afraid to say the "wrong thing," which was why they kept looking to their mother for guidance.
"@Chriistiina_A @todayshow there were no right or wrong answers.... They just had a case of 'stage fright' #notactors," Kate wrote.
However, their girls' father Jon was none too pleased with Kate allowing them to go on the "Today" show to talk about their personal lives.
"I think out of fear, they went silent," Jon told Hollywood Life. "They were never scripted before, it was a reality show - do what you want, say what you want. They were in a moral dilemma. All the stress got to them and they didn't say anything."
Jon told the gossip site he fears Kate's "attention-seeking" ways are hurting their children.
"I think it's f-ing horrible that she'd put them in a [position] like this," Jon said. "She put them on TV for herself. She's narcissistic."
