The Brooklyn Nets are in complete disarray this ongoing regular season. Reports are now spreading that they are allegedly shopping Brook Lopez to teams that are having an interest in him.
The Nets are currently in the bottom spot of Eastern Conference division holding a 9-47 win-loss record. They've lost 14 straight games and it is almost a month already since their last won a game against the New Orleans Pelicans.
With the current situation of the team, it appears that they are heading to another disappointing season again this year. And it looks like they are ready to plunge into the trade market and purportedly trading their franchise player.
According to ESPN, the Brooklyn Nets are said to be already accepting trade calls to teams that have shown great interest in their starting center, Brook Lopez. It was believed that the Nets are willing to trade Lopez for at least two first-round picks as trade package.
The report also says that the Boston Celtics and New Orleans Pelicans are two teams that have earlier shown their intention of acquiring the services of the 28-year old center. And it makes sense for both teams to strike a deal with the Nets as they need some help in the middle.
The Pelicans must get some help for Anthony Davis who is carrying most of the load for the team. Most of their big men are not of great support as Davis and Terrence Ross are the only bright spots for their Pelicans' frontcourt. However, they don't have the necessary asset the Nets are looking for to acquire Lopez.
On the other hand, the Celtics would also want to add a capable superstar to reinforce their roster as they are pushing for a higher spot in the postseason. Having Lopez would be a big boost on their frontcourt and his combination with Isaiah Thomas and Al Horford could be a potent one.
The Celtics could easily take Lopez as they have two first-round draft picks that the Nets wants. Aside from that, the Celtics can also change the trade offer as they have the plenty tradeable assets to offer too.
Will Brook Lopez be traded before the trade deadline? Will he go the Boston Celtics or New Orleans Pelicans?
