Space X, NASA Launches First Falcon 9 Rocket From Pad Steeped in History

Space X's historic launch from NASA was a major success, the Flacon 9 rocket launched a Dragon spacecraft full of cargo into the orbit. The first stage of the booster returned to Earth making a complete and perfect landing at Cape Canaveral.

The Complex 39A came back to life for the first time since the shuttle era, and the Dragon mission for NASA was extremely special as this was their first launch to the space station. The 39A Pad was previously used for most of the shuttle and Apollo missions. This included the first and the last launches as per Space.

This is certainly a huge deal for the team, the site is also said to become the primary launch pad for in the future for the Falcon 9 Heavy. As there is no stopping now, Space X will launch a test flight with its crew Dragon astronaut taxi in 2017 followed by a crewed flight in 2018.

The Dragon is on its way and it is in great shape, it could probably get 5,000 pounds of cargo rising up to the vehicle. The spacecraft is said to take around two days to reach the station, the first step of the team is to get the load off on the vehicle and later on they will go forward into the experiments.

The crew will use robotic arm attachments to unload things from the Dragon's unpressurized trunk. It is step by step process and the crew will have to work fast and very hard. The take off was rescheduled with 13 seconds left on the countdown due to an unexpected reading on the rocket's second stage engine nozzle's position.

Space X modernized the pad under a 20 year lease from NASA, the Space X, NASA first Falcon 9 launch has been a bookmark and will go down in history for their success.
