Cancer is one of the most concerning disease of the last century. There are millions of people around the world who have lost their lives due to this disease and at the same time, there are a lot of people who are suffering as well. Therefore, doctors and researchers are really getting concerned about how to deal with this disease.
A recent study stated that if cancer patients are kept in a torpor state or in a hibernating mode then the growth rate of cancer tumors can be controlled. If a body goes into the hibernation mode then the healthy tissues of the body will become more resistant to the radiation and it will decrease the growth of tumor tissues. At the same time, when a body is into the hibernation mode, the temperature of the body will much cooler. The respiration rate, the heart rate, and metabolism rate all will slow down. When the metabolism rate of the body is slowed down then it will slow grow rate of tissues.
According to American Association of Advancement Science (AAAS), all these things can play a big role when it comes to treating a cancerous tissue. If these steps are executed properly then it can be really handy treating an advance stage of cancer.
Currently, there is about 50 percent cancer patients do have and advanced stage of cancer so it is a really large number of people. If this hibernating technology is implemented perfectly then there will be a lot of people who will be benefitted. When a patient is kept under a hibernating mode, the body temperature will be decreased by 13C-15C. Currently, it is not possible to put a patient in the hibernating stage in a controlled and safe way but doctors believe that it will possible in 10 years.
