Sunanda Pushkar News: Wife Of Indian Minister Found Dead In Apparent Suicide After Accusing Husband Of Affair

The wife of an Indian minister was found dead in an apparent suicide days after she hacked her husband's Twitter account and uploaded posts claiming he had an affair, CNN reported.

Police in India confirmed on Friday that Sunanda Pushkar, wife of Minister Shashi Tharoor, had died but declined to comment further. According to a report by the Los Angeles Times, Tharoor discovered her unresponsive in the Leela Hotel with no sign of external injury.

Earlier this week, Pushkar publicly accused her husband of cheating on her with Mehr Tarar, a Pakistani journalist. A feud erupted between her and the accused journalist on Thursday.

Tharoor is a minister of human resource and development and also a member of parliament. Previously, he was a minister of state for external affairs and United Nations undersecretary-general.

Due to his popular social media following, Indian tabloids nicknamed Tharoor "Minister Twitter." Once Pushkar sent out the Tweets, his 2 million followers were quickly updated on her accusations against Tharoor and Tarar.

While Tharoor initially announced that his account had been hacked, Pushkar told the Economics Times that she saw private messages between her husband and Tarar, claiming the journalist was "stalking" her husband.

Additionally, she told the Indian Express that they had a "rip-roaring affairs" since April and found messages on Tharoor's phone that said he was thinking about getting a divorce.

One of the messages Mehr reportedly wrote to Tharoor was published on his Twitter account on Wednesday, reading "I love you, Shashi Tharoor. And I go while in love with you, irrevocably, irreversibly, hamesha [always]. Bleeding, but always your Mehr."

Pushkar then critized Mehr on her own Twitter account, accusing the journalist of being a Pakistani spy, to which she responded by calling the minister's wife a dumb blonde.
