Trump's $38-Million Tax Issue Update: MSNBC Anchor Rachel Maddow Pinches Skin to Show She Is No Fake News

MSNBN anchor Rachel Maddow pinched her arm during her show to rebut that she is no fake news as sounded by pro-Trump online quarters. The anchor was unfazed and proceeded Tuesday night to tackle President Trump's $38-million tax payment in his 2005 return, despite a warning from the White House that Maddow was being willing to violate the law.

Maddow had David Cay Johnston as her guest middle on the show. It was Johnson who first divulged the leaks on tax return where Trump's $38-million tax payment was stated. He claimed that the leaks might have been made by Trump himself, claiming that the President had been known to have made leaks in the past. Johnson accordingly got the copies of the tax returns on his mailbox.

Before Maddow's show at 9 p.m. Tuesday, White House issued a scathing statement accusing Maddow of being willing to "violate the law" to release "two pages of tax returns from over a decade ago." It was a reaction to Maddow's Twitter tease at about 7:30 p.m., announcing that she had Trump's tax returns which she would tackle at her 9 p.m. show. Trump's $38-million tax issue was fast to become a viral topic as Maddow's post set the Twitter ablaze and put her at the centerstage of the trending topic.

Maddow show's ratings no doubt shot up more out of Trump's $38-million tax issue, although it has been top-rated among anti-Trump followers. But the House White did not let this pass sitting down when its spokesman pointed out that Maddow was "desperate for ratings" and accused journalists of illegally stealing and publishing the tax returns.

With Maddow's revealing show with Johnston, the President took to Twitter Wednesday dawn to label the report about the so-called Trump's $38-million tax payment as "fake news". He belittled a male reporter, who was apparently Johnson. The President's latest Twitter post on March 15 at 3:55 a.m. went: "Does anybody really believe that a reporter, who nobody ever heard of, "went to his mailbox" and found my tax returns? @NBCNews FAKE NEWS!" As of 11:26 p.m. Wednesday in HNGN screenshot, the post earned 88,727 likes, 23,413 retweets and 31,956 replies.
