Asus, the Taiwanese multinational company has started pushing a new software update to its ZenFone 3 Ultra (ZU680KL). The software update will hit the devices via OTA and it has a version number of 14.1010.1702.36. Asus claims that the new software update has plenty of bug fixes and improvements.
As per the Asus ZenTalk release note, the ZenFone 3 Ultra (ZU680KL) will be receiving an update with 14.1010.1702.36 as its version number. The company says that the software update will hit all the users of Asus ZenFone 3 Ultra up to a week. The users are requested to take wait until the device is notified or can manually check the update by heading towards Settings > About > System Updates.
Asus has removed the "Share link" in the software update and has provided alternate solutions for the same. Therefore, users are requested to take up the alternate solution by sharing files across LAN, using ASUS file manager's Network place and wireless transfer function. In addition, If the user wants to use WiFi hotspot to share files to Windows 10 PC or Android devices, then the user can use the "ZenLink" which is compatible with Share Link.
Other items which are removed in the update is redundant app shortcuts 'Audio Wizard,' 'Splendid,' 'System update' and 'Flashlight' from all apps menu. The alternative options provided by the company are as follows,
- To turn-on Audio Wizard, the user is advised to head towards system settings > Sound & Vibration > Audio Wizard or Quick settings > Add Audio wizard tile.
- To turn on Splendid, the user can go to the System settings >Display > Splendid.
- To check system update, the user can go to the System settings >System Update.
- To turn on flashlight, the user can go to the Quick settings >Flashlight.
