Google Pixel 2 would not yet reenter the dimension of the tablet that failed to be a hit in the past. Doing that would bring Google's new smartphones back to zero. The recent news leaks bared that Google new smartphones will be bigger, certainly more than the 5.5-inch. length of Pixel XL (Marlin).
The leaks said that Google Pixel 2 release comes in three variants as hinted in names of fishes. First, the muskies weighing 38lbs, then the walleyes weighing 24lbs. But the taimen weighing 220 lbs is the variant so big, in fact labeled as "Pixel XXL Monster." But this would not go as far as exceeding the tablet's size and weight.
Loyal users have known Google's smartphones to be increasing year by year of its product release identified by fish codenames. In it has 4.7-inch Nexus 4 (Mako), 2013 - 5-inch Nexus 5 (Hammerhead), 2014 - 6-inch Nexus 6 (Shamu), 2015 - 5.2-inch Nexus 5X (Bullhead) and 5.7-inch Nexus 6P (Anger), and 2016 - 5.1-inch Pixel (Sailfish), 5.5-inch Pixel XL (Marlin).
The fish-codenamed variants of Google Pixel 2 might dovetail with the sizes of Samsung's 2016 Galaxy S smartphones- 5.1 inches, 5.5 inches to 5.7 inches, and in 2017-6.2 inches. The latter's 6.2 might be the size to be surpassed by "Pixel XXL Monster." The news leaks further hinted the monster variant would not surpass the 8.9-inch Nexus 9 released in 2014 or the 10.2-inch Pixel C hybrid in 2015. Google Pixel 2 would just hit on further inching Galaxy's 6.2 inches. Or it would just settle a little away from its own last release in 2016 at 5.1 inches.
But Google Pixel 2 certainly would have a biggest variant sized beyond or equal the length of the Google Nexus 6 which has 6-inch display screen. The size came with its Pixel and Pixel XL. The third to come will really be massive but that would not yet reenter into the last smallest size of the tablet, which was set at 8.9 inches. The hint is obvious: Taimen after all is the biggest in the salmon family.
