Police in Cleveland are searching for a gunman who fatally shot a 5-year-old girl and injured her mother as they sat in their car on Sunday, ABC News reported.
The shooting occurred around 11:00 p.m. in Cleveland's west side, authorities said. The unidentified gunman, described as a white male, allegedly pulled up in a green SUV, got out and shot the victims, then immediately fled.
One 911 caller said she heard at least three shots fired.
The girl died and her mother was wounded. She was said to be in fair condition on Monday at MetroHealth Medical Center.
The victims names have not been released.
SWAT teams are currently searching through a residential area of the city. Once they linked the green SUV to a certain address, they arrived at the home and found out about a second address of interest, where they are investigating now.
There are no possible motives at the time and no arrests have been made.
