Sad news for Marvel and Captain America fans. Chris Evans has reacted to the rumors that he is an end of his career as the patriotic superhero.
According to People, Chris Evans recently appeared on The Ellen DeGeneres Show and confirmed that his contract to play Captain America is indeed over. He just has a couple of movies to go.
"My contract is up," People quoted Chris Evans. "I have Avengers three and four. We do three now and four in the latter part of the year and then after that, that is the end of my contract."
While talking to Collider, Chris Evans stated that he really loved playing Captain America. He added that it feels like senior year, everyone eagerly waits for it but once they reach the milestone no one wants to leave school anymore.
Chris Evans further said that it will be tough for him to not play the character anymore. The only reason he is leaving is because his contract has come to an end and he cannot do anything about it.
The 35-yearold then praised Marvel stating 'everything it does seem to be cinema gold.' Chris Evans also added that he will be open to playing the role again if Marvel ever asks him.
Chris Evans didn't give further details on how his character's departure would play out on screen. However, rumors are rife that the superhero might die a hero in the battle field, like the true soldier he is.
Chris Evans will be one of the 67 stars who will be in "Avengers: Infinity War" Part 1 and 2. Principal photography for both films began on January 23, 2017 and both flicks will be filmed simultaneously. The first part will hit the theaters on May 4, 2018 and the second is scheduled to release on May 3, 2019.
