After dropping two straight games, Golden State (26-16) bounced back on Saturday with a 97-87 win over the New Orleans Pelicans. The Warriors defense has been spotty at times during the season, but it showed up on Saturday and kept the Pelicans to just 38.6 percent shooting from the field.
"We forced them into tough jump shots and even when they got into the paint, you've got your rim protectors - plural," Warriors star Stephen Curry said, via ESPN. "When you get a couple blocks, they think about it the next time they come into the paint."
Curry leads the team in both points (23.5) and assists (9.2) per game while shooting, but the 25-year-old is shooting a career-low 38.7 percent from beyond the arc. Although Curry's three-point percentage is down, Klay Thompson is averaging 19.1 points per game while shooting a career-best 41.5 percent from three-point range.
Indiana (32-7), meanwhile, head into the ORACLE Arena on Monday looking for their fifth straight win. The Pacers sit atop the Eastern Conference with a modest 3.5-game lead over No. 2 Miami Heat.
"We are becoming an offensive juggernaut," Pacers forward Danny Granger said. "At times, we struggled with our offensive efficiency but when we move the ball and pass the way we do and cut the way we do, it's hard to stop us."
Pacers coach Frank Vogel said, "It's just guys rising up to the occasional and stepping up."
