"Game of Thrones" Season 7 is going to have a musical surprise as Ed Sheeran would be seen in a cameo role alongside Arya (Maisie Williams). The singer has said that he would be seen on screen for a short period of time and he also expressed happiness that his character will not die.
Ed Sheeran has revealed that he will be making a cameo appearance in "Game of Thrones" Season 7, Screen Crush reported. He will be seen singing a song on screen and Masie Williams aka Arya will encounter his voice. Disclosing the details, Sheeran said that he is doing a scene with Maisie Williams wherein he sings a song and Williams reacts with words of appreciation.
Ed Sheeran also revealed that his short role does not end in death and he appears on screen for only five minutes. Notably, "Game of Thrones" is notorious for killing characters in horrendous fashion and many characters (big as well as small) have bitten the dust on HBO's fantasy show. In fact, much more are going to vanish in the upcoming Season 7 and the final Season 8.
So, it is not surprising that Ed Sheeran is happy at having survived. What is more, he would have preferred to have sex on the show rather than getting killed on "Game of Thrones," claimed Mail Online. However, the 26-year-old-singer refused to divulge any further details about the lyrics of the song or its timing. All he said was that Gary Lightbody from the "Snow Patrol" band had inspired him to join the show as he had done the same in 2012.
For those who do not remember, Lightbody appeared in Episode 3 of "Game of Thrones" Season 3 titled "Walk of Punishment." So, it would be interesting to see Ed Sheeran next who has been brought in as a surprise for Maisie Williams as the actress has admitted to being a big fan of the singer. It is worth mentioning here that "Game of Thrones" Season 7 premieres on July 16, on HBO.
