Queens Man Suspected Of Stabbing Wife And Two Daughters Arrested In Texas

A Queens man suspected of murdering his wife and two young daughters was apprehended by authorities in Texas on Monday night.

Miguel Mejia, 28, had been running from the cops since his wife, Deisy Garcia, and daughters Daniela, 2, and Yoselin, 1, were found stabbed to death in their Jamaica, Queens home on Sunday, the New York Daily News reported.

Authorities tracked down Mejia to Schulenberg, Texas. Mejia was treating stab wounds that seemed self-inflicted when authorities found him inside a white vehicle with New York license plates. He was arrested by a group of law enforcement including state troopers and U.S. Marshals, the Daily News reported.

Mejia, originally from Mexico, is expected to appear in court Tuesday for an extradition hearing.

Cops told the Daily News that Garcia, 21, and her daughters were last seen alive Saturday at 9 p.m.

Garcia's body was first discovered by her 12-year old cousin, Rene Chuc. Chuc went to the Sutphin Boulevard apartment wanting to spend time with Garcia's daughters. Chuc found Garcia lying in her blood on the floor when he walked in.

"He opened the door and he sees my niece on the floor," Romero Chuc, Rene's father and Garcia's uncle, told the Daily News.

Romero Chuc then entered a bedroom and found the two girls dead, on a bed underneath a blanket. All three family members suffered multiple stab wounds. Five knives were found in the apartment, according to the Daily News.

"I don't understand what happened," Garcia's uncle told the Daily News. Romero Chuc, 37, shared the two-bedroom apartment with eight other relatives.

Authorities then began the manhunt for Mejia, searching New York train stations and airports. Police found Mejia because of several calls he made to Mexico from his cell phone, the Daily News reported.

Garcia's relatives held a memorial service Monday night.

"There are no words that I can explain for the pain I'm going through, Garcia's mother, Luz Mina, told the Daily News.

Mejia was investigated for two domestic violence incidents in 2013, one in which Mejia allegedly kicked Garcia in the head, the Daily News reported.

"I always told her to leave him," Garcia's mother told the Daily News. "She said, 'I can't because I have two daughters and he's brining the money home,' "
