Many boxing enthusiasts are patiently waiting for the Floyd Mayweather - Conor McGregor bout inside the ring. However, the said agreement seems to be getting delayed urging Bob Arum to challenge the UFC mixed martial artist of Irish descent to fight his Filipino boxing superstar, Manny Pacquiao instead.
Arum told TMZ if Mayweather is pretty much occupied about giving a deceptive blow then Pacquiao will surely give a punch. The exciting game will come to life after Pacquiao's bout on July 1. He added that if Mayweather will not sign the deal to face McGregor in the boxing ring, Pacquiao will take his place.
Promoter Arum who has been endorsing Filipino boxer, Pacquiao for more than 10 years has challenged McGregor to fight his client in case his deal with Mayweather did not progress. However, McGregor already signed the deal and just waiting for Mayweather to do his part.
Mayweather will review McGregor's proposal with the help of his advisor, Al Haymon together with Mayweather Promotions CEO Leonard Ellerbe. McGregor has been smacking down Mayweather in the media for a couple of days. He's provoking him to employ his part regarding the agreement to make their possible bout of $500,000 come true.
"Be patient, don't give in," Arum said. "Dana's a good negotiator, and he'll get the thing done. But he can't be pushed around by Mayweather and his people."
On Saturday, McGregor has posted that he had started his first day of training in preparation for a boxing match with the younger Mayweather. McGregor called him 'mouth' if he will not sign the deal.
Simultaneously, 28-year-old McGregor became UFC's mixed martial artist at UFC 205 being the champion in two divisions. He bagged the world titles for both featherweight and lightweight.
Fans have been expecting the megafight to happen on September 16, 2017. However, according to UFC president Dana White, the much-anticipated bout has been delayed because of the Gennady Golovkin vs. Canelo Alvarez fight.
