The bodies of one man and two children were found at an on-base home in Fort Hood, Tuesday morning.
Fort Hood Public Affairs Office reps informed NBC News that three military dependents were found dead inside the Fort Hood house at about 7:15 a.m.
It is not clear whether the three were related, according to the official statement released from the Texas Army post. But given their status as military dependents, the man and two children were related to a soldier.
The statement released to the press added confirmation that there was "no further threat to the community."
Special Agents from the United States Army Criminal Investigation Command, CID, have been tasked with the investigation, San Antonio's KENS 5 reported.
The CID said no further information would be released until the victims' families were notified of the deaths.
Fort Hood, located about 160 miles south of Dallas, experienced a severe bout of violence on Nov. 5, 2009, when Army psychiatrist Maj. Nidal Hasan opened fire on a group of people on the base, killing 13 and leaving 30 more wounded.
According to the New York Daily News, Hasan was given the death sentence in August 2013.
