The 'Drag Strip Mode' in 2018 Ford Mustang GT enables the car to reach a speed of 60 mph within 4 seconds. In terms of speed, it can beat many other high-profile cars.
Ford has broken its previous record by introducing the new 2018 Ford Mustang GT, which is the fastest car manufactured by Ford that can reach the speed of 60 miles per hour under only four seconds. The new Ford Mustang GT comes with a 5.0 liter which can produce 460 horsepower 420 pounds of torque along with the 10-speed automatic transmission.
There are total five driver modes available in this car and when the 'drag strip' mode is selected the car can hit the 60 miles per hour speed from zero within five seconds. Though it not as fast as Tesla still it manages to beat many other high-profile sports car like Porsche 911 Carrera. According to reports from Fortune, Gene Widmann, the chief engineer of Mustang said that when the Drag Strip mode has applied the torque of the engine doesn't drop when shifting and this saves up the time and also, the horsepower and peak engine torque can be reached in a straightforward manner.
Even the manual-transmission Mustang carries the Drag Strip; however, if one is looking for quick acceleration, the automatic transmission will work the best. The GTs which is equipped with performance pack allows the Drag Strip mode to change the settings of the care like it increases the weight transfer to the rear axle of the car and this, in turn, provides greater traction.
It has also been revealed that the 2019 Mustang EcoBoost will have the Drag Strop mode as well and the torque will be increased from 320 lb-ft to 350 lb-feet. However, the power output of the car will remain same. When the EcoBoost will be equipped with a 10 speed automatic along with the performance package, it will be able to cross the 60 mph speeds within five seconds. The price of the 2018 Ford Mustang GT has still not been revealed.
