Confirmation was made that the Nokia 8 will be announced and launched this August 16 as Nokia has reportedly started sending invites for an August 16 event. Because of this, the device will mark the first Nokia flagship in three years as well as the first Android-powered premium handset with the company's brand.

It was also reported that the Nokia 8 will also be the first smartphone by the Finns to feature a dual camera. Moreover, it is also expected that the device comes with a 5.3" 1440x2560px display plus a Snapdragon 835 chipset which will likely be paired with 6 gig of RAM. Further, the device will also feature a dual 13MP Zeiss-branded camera on its back.

According to GSM Arena, the Nokia 8 will be available in three colors namely, Gold-Copper, Steel, and Blue. Within this year, Nokia released three Android smartphones and these include the Nokia 3, 5, and 6. With the latest report on the launching of Nokia 8, it was said that this will serve as the first true flagship Nokia phone from the HMD Global.

Regarding the latest report, HMD Global will be doing a press event on August 16 in London and apparently, the company will now unveil its Nokia 8 to the world. Even if rumor and reports about what to expect regarding the device were already leaked, still the consumers will be more excited to finally have the said latest handset from Nokia.

In addition to the above-mentioned features, it was also reported that the Nokia 8 will feature a 5.3-inch display plus a front-facing fingerprint scanner. Then the reported and suspected cost of this device is $675 USD. As of now, no countries have been specified as to where HMD will release the said device.

Lastly, with regards to the design, the Nokia 8 reportedly will sport a full metal body and the display will be an LCD or an OLED one. But since there is a great demand for OLED panels at the moment, there is a huge possibility that HMD Global will employ the easier-to-acquire crystal displays.
