Draft Beer Jelly Beans: Jelly Belly Introduces First Ever Beer-Flavored Jelly Bean ‘Inspired by Hefeweizen Ale’

Jelly Belly Candy Company has created the first ever beer-flavored jelly bean. According to a press release (via PR Newswire), the golden bean is officially called Draft Beer and was "inspired by a Hefeweizen ale with a clean, crisp and wheaty taste."

"We now have the first beer flavored jelly bean - Draft Beer," Jelly Belly writes on their site. "Beer has been a highly-requested flavor for decades, and after years of perfecting the formulation, we're ready to share this new product with the world."

"Beer connoisseurs will find the flavor to be clean with notes of wheat and a touch of sweetness," the company said in a press release. "The aroma is mildly bready."

It took Jelly Belly three years to perfect the flavor which "includes top secret ingredients." Even though they won't divulge which secret flavors helped create the bean, Jelly Belly assures that there is no alcohol in their Draft Beer bean.

Jelly Belly is known for creating uniquely flavored jelly beans. They also have their Buttered Popcorn, Cream Soda and Dark Chocolate Covered Tabasco jelly bean. The company also has a line of cocktail-inspired beans which includes flavors like Mojito, Peach Bellini, Pina Colada and Strawberry Daiquiri.

According to their site, by combining their new Draft Beer with other jelly bean flavors people can create their very own "beer cocktails." For example, if a person eats two Draft Beer jelly beans and a Peach they can create a Beer Sangria. Two Draft Beers and a Red Apple jelly bean creates something similar ro an Apple Cider Shandy and two Draft Beers, a Lemon Lime and a Tabasco jelly bean will give you a Michelada.

"Anyone who enjoys a good, cold beer will enjoy Draft Beer Jelly Belly beans for the simple fact that it tastes just as you'd imagine," Rob Swaigen, vice president of marketing for Jelly Belly Candy Company said in the press release, PR Newswire reports.

The Draft Beer jelly beans will be available in stores this spring.
