Samsung announced the release of a new addition to its Galaxy tablet series, promising better performance with a sleek design and enhanced capabilities, Monday, April 29, 2013.
In a news release, Samsung announced the release of its new Galaxy Tab 3, to give users a new overall tablet experience. The world's leading smartphone manufacturing company recently timed the highest shipment of its mobile units in the first quarter of 2013. The addition of the new product shows Samsung's consistent effort in the growth of its company. Samsung's latest Tab 3 features a sleek design in comparison to its 7-inch predecessor. The company aims to give a handy tablet experience.
Samsung announced two variants of the Galaxy Tab 3, Wi-Fi only and WiFi+3G. Both these variants will be powered by a 1.2 GHz Dual Core processor, 1GB RAM, and runs on the latest 4.1 Jelly Bean. The Tab 3 slims down to 111.1 x 188.0 x 9.9mm, weighing 302g for its Wi-Fi Only variant and slightly heavier 306g WiFi+3G variant. The 7-inch screen will boast similar 1024 x 600resolution with 169 pixels per inch as featured in the Tab 2.
Both Samsung Tab 3 variants will have a 3.0-megapixel rear camera and 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera. The storage memory can be expandable up to 64 GB from 16GB and 32GB via microSD slot. It includes an internal storage of 8/16 GB. Despite its sleek design, Samsung managed to squeeze in a 4,000 mAh battery.
Samsung said in the news release that the Galaxy Tab 3 Wi-Fi version will hit stores across the globe by May following the 3G version in June. It will shortly announce in which countries the device will or will not be sold. The pricing was not specified, but will be announced shortly before going on sale.
