The iOS7 rollout came with certain glitches, one of which included unexpected home screen crash or "black or white screen of death". Apple has promised a fix in a future iOS 7.1 update.
Apple has got mixed reactions about its most recent mobile operating system, the iOS7. Several users reported various issues with OS when it was launched alongside iPhone 5S and 5C in September. Some of the glitches with the software were a "black or white screen of death" and unexpected reboots. Apple has finally promised a fix for the bug that triggers the glitches in the upcoming iOS 7.1 update.
"We have a fix in an upcoming software update for a bug that can occasionally cause a home screen crash," Apple spokesperson Trudy Muller told Mashable, and CNET confirmed the news later.
A different version of the BSOD error (blue screen of death) with white blank screen under a black Apple logo or black screen under white Apple logo appears on the boot-up screen. Some users also reported that the iPhone abruptly shuts down when the phone's battery dips below 30 percent, and a bug triggers unexpected reboots. These problems started appearing on Apple forums as early as September, but these grievances will finally get a permanent fix as soon as the updated version of iOS7 releases.
The new update, which is currently in the fourth beta stage, will also bring fixes to the keyboard, contacts, changes to the UI and other minor bug fixes. The official release date for iOS7.1 is not given, but media reports suggest an arrival as early as March.
According to the tech blog, the iOS 7.1 beta 4 arrived Monday, January 20. The changes noticed in the new update include a female voice for the U.K. version of Siri and significant design tweaks.
