Mike Huckabee Says Women 'Cannot Control Their Libidos Or Reproductive Systems' Due to Government Assistance Programs

Arkansas' former governor Mike Huckabee encouraged Republicans on Thursday to win the female vote by being more aggressive.

In his comments, Huckabee urged his fellow GOP politicians not to view women as meek citizens who need government assistance - a notion he said Democrats have been pushing hard.

"I think it's time Republicans no longer accept listening to the Democrats talk about a 'war on women,'" Huckabee stated during his speech at the Republican National Committee's winter meeting, as reported by the Washington Post. "The fact is the Rpublicans don't have a war on women, they have a war for women, to empower them to be something other than victims of their gender."

According to the Washington Post, Huckabee also stated that Democrats bank on people to believe that women aren't as strong as men, in order to raise the need for public options like Affordable Healthcare, commonly referred to as Obamacare.

Huckabee went on to say that Democrats make women think "they are helpless without Uncle Sugar coming in and providing them a prescription each month for birth control because they cannot control their libidos or their reproductive systems without the help of government."

Huckabee, who is rumored to be mulling a presidential run in 2016, described Democrats as "the party that has preached poverty," the Post reported.
