Diagon Alley Expansion At Universal Studios Set To Open In 2014 (VIDEO)

Universal Studios is doubling the size of the Wizarding World of Harry Potter to include Diagon Alley, Knockturn Alley and the Hogwarts express, USA Today reported.

The new edition will feature a London waterfront, built to scale, including the Wyndham Theater, Leicester Square and Grimmauld Place and an entrance to Diagon Alley which hides behind London in the books, according to USA Today.

"We went to London and measured every building," Alan Gilmore, art director for the park, told USA Today. "This is an absolute raising of the bar in level of detail."

The area will be a spitting image of London along with other elements, like the triple-decker Knight Bus with its own fast-talking shrunken head, USA Today reported.

In order to reach the new attractions, visitors will walk under the Leicester Square arches, but how they will actually make their way out of the muggle world into the wizard world is still being kept a secret, according to USA Today.

The newly added Diagon Alley will be filled with stores and restaurants including Madam Malkin's Robes for All Occasions, the three story Weasley's Wizard Wheezes shop, Magical Menagerie for owls and Hippogriff stuffed animals, a Quality Quidditch store and Ollivanders for wands, USA Today reported.

Restaurants will include the Leaky Cauldron which is the pub everyone goes to in the books, and will serve Butterbeer and English pub food like fish and chips and bangers and mash, according to USA Today. Florean Fortescue's Ice-Cream Parlour will serve weird flavors including strawberry with peanut butter.

Knockturn Alley will focus on the dark art and will include stores Borgin and Burkes where death eater masks can be bought, along with skulls and other dark objects, USA Today reported.

A new ride called Harry Potter and the Escape from Gringotts will also be added.

"When we built the Forbidden Journey ride, we set the bar pretty darn high," Woodbury told USA Today "This was a particularly daunting challenge to one-up Forbidden Journey. It's no small undertaking."

The dragon pictured on top of the bank building will spit fire frequently, Woodbury added, according to USA Today.
