Kim Jong-Un, the dictator of North Korea, has executed all blood relatives of his uncle Jang Song-thaek, multiple news reports claim.
South Korean news reports say that Jang's children, brothers and grandchildren were executed. The executed relatives include Jang's sister Jang Kye-sun, her husband and ambassador to Cuba, Jon Yong-jin, and Jang's nephew, Jang Yong-chol, who is also an ambassador to Malaysia and his two sons, reported Yonhap News Agency.
"Some relatives were shot to death by pistol in front of other people if they resisted while being dragged out of their apartment homes," a source told the agency. "All relatives of Jang have been put to death, including even children." Another source added, "The executions of Jang's relatives mean that no traces of him should be left."
The exact day of the executions remains unclear, but the sources say the relatives were called in Pyongyang by Ministry of State troops early December and might have been killed after Jang's death December 12 last year.
Only relatives by marriage, such the wife of the Malaysian ambassador, were spared and sent to remote villages.
Jang was arrested and executed on charges of plotting a coup, being a womaniser, misappropriation of funds and abuse of position.
According to a Chinese tabloid Wen Wei Po, Jang was stripped naked and fed to 120 dogs, which were without food for three days. The tabloid reported the news without citing any sources. No other Chinese media reported the story.
