We have a feeling there's going to be a lot happening in the second half of "The Walking Dead." The show's second half of season 4 returns to AMC on Feb 9 and picks up after Rick Grimes and the rest of Prison Group are forced to leave the prison after The Governor's attack.
For a little reminder, The Governor and Hershel are both dead and the group at the prison got separated as they ran for their lives. In a second teaser promo, Rick and Carl are seen traveling by themselves. Rick is battered and bruised while Carl seems to reluctantly take over the role as leader.
Beth and Daryl are thankfully still together while Maggie (where's Glenn!) desperately tries to fight off zombies by herself. Michonne is also traveling alone - well kind of. In clips released by AMC she is seen fighting off zombies and crying.
The network also released a promo photo of Michonne that shows her with two new "pets." Fans of the series know that her "pets" are walkers she mutilated by cutting off their jaws and arms so they can't attack her. She uses them to camouflage and ward off the other zombies.
In Season 3 she was forced to behead her other two pet walkers. The photo hints that fans could be learning a bit more about Michonne's past and how she became the kick-ass person we all love. Recently E! News was able to preview episode 9 and wrote that even though the episode wouldn't be ranked among the best, what's revealed about Michonne is truly heartbreaking.
"...we are going to get a deeper peek into Michonne's pre-zombie life. We were shocked to see that before our stern-faced character became a sword-wielding killer, she was just a regular woman who smiled a lot. Living in a postapocalyptic world would definitely drain anyone of their happiness, but after learning more about her past, we're definitely more empathetic with Michonne's cold exterior."
