San Antonio (33-11) sits two games behind No. 1 Oklahoma City Thunder in the Western Conference standings. Injuries have made it difficult for the Spurs to pull ahead; the team has dropped three of their last five games, including a 113-101 loss to the Miami Heat on Sunday.
"Everybody has injuries. You have to deal with them during the season," Spurs guard Tony Parker said, via ESPN. "Obviously, it's hurting us but they're going to come back. We just have to keep pushing and try to get better."
Parker has dealt with injuries of his own, including what appeared to be a jammed finger on Sunday. The Spurs are also without Tiago Splitter, who has a shoulder injury, and Kawhi Leonard and Danny Green, who both have hand injuries.
Houston (29-17), meanwhile, sits seven games back from Oklahoma City. The Rockets have gotten better through the season, but the team is coming off of back-to-back losses to the Memphis Grizzlies. Although Houston has beaten San Antonio twice already this season, Rockets coach Kevin McHale doesn't want his team complacent for Tuesday's contest.
"It's going to be a tough game," said McHale. "The first two games don't make any difference. We're a different team. They're a different team. We've got to play really well. That team lost to Miami, they're going to come in hungry."
