Threatened TV Reporter Responds to Republican Michael Grimm’s Behaviour

Michael Scotto, the NY1 reporter who was threatened by Congressman Michael Grimm at the Capitol said that he seemed angrier than any other politician he had seen answering an uncomfortable question.

In an interview with MSNBC's 'Morning Joe,' Scotto spoke of the Tuesday night incident that garnered nationwide attention. "I was taken aback," Scotto said Wednesday. "I'm used to people giving me pushback for questions, but I was not used to something like that. He basically came over to me, as you saw, and said that if I ever do something like that again, he would throw me from the balcony," he said.

Grimm threatened the reporter saying that he would "cut him into half." All this was for Scotto's question on the federal investigation on his campaigns finances. "Let me be clear to you, you ever do that to me again I'll throw you off this f*****g balcony. If you ever do that to me again... No, no, you're not man enough, you're not man enough. I'll break you in half. Like a boy," Grimm said.

According to Scotto, Grimm did not physically touch him but seemed to get in his face, reported Politico. He also said that the 43-year-old Republican avoided answering any question regarding the allegations since his donor Diana Durand was arrested for exceeding maximum donations.

"The investigation's been going on for a couple of years, but it was just in the last two weeks the investigation's been heating up," Scotto said. "We really haven't been able to talk with him on camera about that. We've had reporters go to events of his on Staten Island, and they've been unable to talk to him about it. So he was there talking about the State of the Union, I thought it was the perfect opportunity to ask him a question that we've been trying to ask him for almost two weeks now."

Scotoo also said that he did not intend to take any action against Grimm. "I'm going to leave it as is. I think the tape speaks for itself, so I'm just going to leave it the way it is," Scotto said.
