New Zealand clinched the series on Monday with their third ODI win. Ross Taylor earned the Man of the Match award in the seven-wicket win for scoring a game-high 112 runs (not out). Tim Southee took two of the team's five wickets.

"To beat a very, very good Indian team, especially in these conditions which I thought were more favourable to them, it was an emphatic win," New Zealand skipper Brendon McCullum said, via CricBuzz.com. "We closed out the series which we have been talking about all through the summer, so we are really pleased with the effort."

For India, Rohit Sharma and skipper MS Dhoni each scored 79 runs. India's bowlers, however, struggled and managed to take only two wickets, thanks to Mohammed Shami and Varun Aaron.

"The spinners bowled quite well and then the fast bowlers came back on and they again gave away runs freely, which meant that we weren't able to hang on to the pressure created by the spinners," said Dhoni. "It was a disappointing bowling performance from the fast bowlers."

India is playing for pride at this point. Avoiding a complete wash could give India confidence heading into their Test series against New Zealand, which begins on Feb. 7.
