Los Angeles Lakers' Steve Nash is in a legal dispute with his ex-wife over child support.
The reason behind it? He doesn't want his kids spoiled.
Nash says his ex-wife, Alejandra Nash, is an "excessive spender" and will likely spoil their three children if she receives more money, according to TMZ. He reasons that if his children are splurged on with expensive luxuries, they'll become spoiled and lack a work ethic.
The 8-time NBA All-Star isn't just being stingy with his money. Nash believes he's already paying more than enough. He covers 90 percent of his children's medical, school and extracurricular activities, and most of the nanny's $2,000 per month salary.
Nash and his wife split in 2010 after the birth of their third child. Nash contends his children are not for want because Alejandra earns over $30,000 a month. In the divorce proceedings, the judge agreed with Nash that Alejandra doesn't need child support since their divorce made her a multi-millionaire.
She currently lives in Arizona and is appealing the ruling.
Alejandra argues that Steve makes a million dollars more than her every month, and it's unfair that he isn't required to spend more on their children.
Nash will have plenty of time to argue over the summer. The San Antonio Spurs swept the Lakers last weekend in the first round of the NBA playoffs. Nash, who the Lakers acquired last summer, battled injuries all season and missed the final game of the playoffs.
