Beyoncé is reportedly embarking on another 22-Day Vegan challenge, E! News reports. The "Drunk in Love" singer uploaded a photo to Instagram of a chocolate-flavored protein bar and slices of bananas. She captioned the "22DaysVegan."
In December, Beyoncé and her husband Jay Z did a vegan challenge for 22 days right before the rapper's 44th birthday. She might have been sharing a picture of what she snacked on during the first challenge or letting fans know that she was starting it again.
At the beginning of December, the "Magna Carta" rapper explained in a blog post on Life + Times why they chose to go temporarily vegan and the significance in starting it the day before his birthday.
"Psychologists have said it takes 21 days to make or break a habit. On the 22nd day, you've found the way," he wrote. "On December 3, one day before my 44th birthday, I will embark on a 22 Days challenge to go completely vegan, or as I prefer to call it, plant-based!"
"There's something spiritual to me about it being on my 44th birthday and the serendipity behind the number of days in this challenge, 22 (2+2=4) coupled with the fact that the challenge ends on Christmas Day," he continued. "It just feels right!"
Jay Z said that he got the idea from a friend and fellow vegan who encouraged him to try vegan meals at breakfast and see how he liked it.
"It was surprisingly easier on me than I thought," he said.
During the challenge, Blue Ivy Carter's mama came under fire when she was spotted dining at a vegan restaurant wearing a jacket lined with fur, the Daily Mail reports. Many vegans protest the way animals are treated in the fashion and food industries and abstain from eating or using animal products, so Beyoncé's Christopher Kane wool-blend parka with a real fur collar probably upset a lot of the other people dining at the restaurant.
