With the weather expected to be over 30 degrees on Sunday, the attention has returned to the rarity of the NFC and AFC's No. 1 seeded teams meeting for the Lombardi Trophy.
Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning leads the NFL's top offense against one of the league's stingiest defenses. Manning, who already has a career worthy of the Hall of Fame, can cement his reputation as one of the greatest with a second Super Bowl win.
Manning is nearing the end of his career. While he will undoubtedly go down as one of the best signal callers in NFL history, the 37-year-old admitted he isn't concerned about the legacy he leaves behind.
"I've been being asked about my legacy since I was about 25 years old. I'm not sure you can have a legacy when you're 25 years old. Even 37," Manning said, via ESPN. "I'd like to have to be, like, 70 to have a legacy. I'm not even 100 percent sure what the word even means.
"I'm down the homestretch of my career, but I'm still in it. It's not over yet. And so it's still playing out."
Two seasons removed from undergoing his third neck surgery, Manning put to rest any doubts about his arm strength en route to breaking single-season records in both passing yards (5,477) and touchdowns (55).
Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson, in his second year as a pro, is tasked with trying to match Manning's offensive output on Sunday. Wilson represents the new vanguard of NFL quarterbacks, combining athleticism and accuracy to record 24 wins in his young career - the most any quarterback has won in his first two years, according to ESPN.
