The mother of a man whose body parts were discovered last week in a bag in St. Clair, Mich. is slated to be arraigned for the crime, Monday.
Michigan authorities told the Associated Press that 59-year-old Donna Chaffin Scrivo allegedly killed and dismembered her son, Ramsay Scrivo, 32. She'll make her first appearance in 40th District Court in St. Clair Shores at 2:30 p.m., Monday.
Investigators opened a probe into the death after a bag stuffed with human remains was found just off of the I-94 freeway at the St. Clair exit. Among the remains in the bag were a human head and torso.
Police reportedly found the instrument used to cut up Ramsay's body after conducting searches at the deceased man's house on Gary Lane and his mother's residence on Rosedale Street. According to the Associated Press, the mother lived at her son's house after her home caught fire last year.
Law enforcement officials are still unsure how or why Ramsay was killed, but alleged Donna cut up her son's body, put the remains in a bag, and threw them out of a car last week.
Two citizens first alerted police of the body parts last Friday, after they saw the bag thrown into a ditch from what looked like a mid-1990s GMC Jimmy or Chevy Blazer.
Ramsay worked as an accountant, after graduating from Wayne State University, AP reported.
