The ladies of "The View" discussed Dylan Farrow's sexual abuse allegations against Woody Allen, which caused Barbara Walters to get defensive of the director.
Walters explained it had been in her experience that Allen and his wife Soon-Yi Previn had been amazing parents to their two youngest children.
"I have rarely seen a father as sensitive, as loving and as caring as Woody is and Soon-Yi [to their two biological children together.] I don't know about Dylan. I can only tell you what I have seen now," Walters said on "The View".
Walters' comments ignited the conversation, and fellow co-host Sherri Shepard chimed in with a counter argument.
"Barbara, when you say, 'I'm speaking from what I've seen,' there are so many things that go on behind closed doors. We also know that he was with Soon-Yi when she was very young. Mia had adopted this girl when she was young and Woody was around her. You've also got a man who's got a track record. He liked younger women," Shepherd said on "The View". "So it's not that far off."
"We've heard so many cases of people going, 'He was the most wonderful person in the world," Shepard argued. "I would have never thought he would've..."
However, Walters disagreed with Shepard regarding her comments about Allen liking younger women. Walters stated his attraction to younger women isn't a valid argument and shouldn't be held against Allen. She also claimed his relationship with Soon-Yi was consensual when she was 17-years-old.
"It was his stepdaughter that he messed around with," Shepard stated.
Farrow claims her stepfather began sexually abusing her at 7-years-old. However, Allen was never charged with a crime and Farrow's mother declined to pursue any criminal investigation after he was stripped away of his visitation rights.
The allegations come after Allen's work was honored during the 2014 award show season. Allen is currently up for an Oscar award.
