The long-awaited fight between Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Manny Pacquiao will reportedly take place on Sept. 13 at the MGM Grand Garden in Las Vegas. Mayweather's next fight, meanwhile, appears to be against Amir Khan.
A source close to Mayweather's inner circle is reporting the Mayweather and Pacquiao fight is a "done deal," according to The Daily Mail. The source has a good track record, too, after accurately reporting Mayweather would fight Robert Guerrero and Canelo Alvarez months before the official announcements.
Per The Daily Mail:
"The most reliable hint thus far that Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao will finally get it on began rustling around the American rumour mill as the Pacman flew into Los Angeles from manila in the early hours of Monday morning, London time.
"Book the date, at least provisionally: September 13 this year. The place: The MGM Grand Garden, Las Vegas. ... This time the word comes from close to Mayweather's Money Team."
It's worth noting that Pacquiao also trains in Los Angeles and has a fight on April 5 against Tim Bradley. If Pacquiao loses, it's possible Bradley could be bumped up to face Mayweather in September.
Mayweather, meanwhile, is expected to fight Amir Khan on May 3. The deal is done and the announcement will be "confirmed any day," according to The Daily Mail.
The 36-year-old Mayweather is undefeated with a 45-0-0 record. His last fight was in September against Alvarez, who lost by a majority decision.
