"Teen Mom" star Farrah Abraham opened up about her dark and abusive past with In Touch magazine. The 22-year-old reality star revealed that she endured years of abuse as a child by her parents, Debra Danielson and Michael Abraham.
"[They] would beat me with a belt if I acted out," she said. "I had cuts, bruises, welts, swelling and scars."
According to Abraham the abuse went on for years until she and her mother got into a nasty fight in 2010 over Abraham's now 4-year-old daughter, Sophia. The fight was so bad that the "Couples Therapy" star decided she needed to get away.
"It was a turning point," she said. "I needed to stop the abuse."
However, separating herself from a reportedly abusive home didn't end all of her problems. Abram told the magazine that after the release of her sex tape, "Farrah Abraham: Back Door Teen Mom," she started hanging around "the wrong type of people."
The MTV star started booking gigs at porn conventions and strip clubs, which Abraham said put her in unsafe situations.
"I was drugged and raped more than once," she revealed. "I allowed the [wrong] type of people into my life. It was a very dark time."
The mother of one said she now uses therapy to help her heal from all the pain but realizes she still has "a lot of issues" she needs to work out.
"But I'm more aware now, and I'm determined to break the pattern," she said.
In a January interview with In Touch, Abraham revealed for the first time that she had regrets about making her sex tape with porn actor James Deen. She told the magazine that the tape ruined her life and put a strain on relationships.
"It made it hard to have friends and a private life and to trust family, who I feel use me for money," she said. "If I went back in time, I would not have done it."
