Sophie Gregoire Trudeau is widely known as Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau's wife. But more than being the First Lady of her country and a mother of three children, she has been advocating many causes including gender equality, women's rights and mental health for more than a 15 years.

5. Accomplished Journalist
Gregoire Trudeau finished her BA in Communications at the Universite de Montreal and completed another degree at the Ecole de radio et de television Promedia both in Montreal. After her studies, she worked at an advertising firm but eventually, she found her calling in the media industry when she landed a job in a newsroom.
She became an entertainment reporter for many television programs.
4. She Had an Eating Disorder
During her younger years, Gregoire Trudeau had an eating disorder called Bulimia. It is a problem highlighted by uncontrollable bouts of overeating. This is followed by purging using methods such as vomiting or laxative abuse.
To help people suffering from the same problem, she has been openly discussing her experience on how she overcame Bulimia and anxiety. Among her advice is to accept that it is impossible to please everyone.

Sophie is an ambassador of WE Well-being, a program that provides people of all ages with the tools and resources they need to promote their own and others' well-being.
In the same interview, she said that small "day by day" actions could help develop resiliency and self-esteem to overcome tough days.
3. Women's Rights Advocate
Grégoire Trudeau serves as a spokesperson for Fitspirit Foundation and the "Because I am a Girl" campaign by Plan Canada. In 2017, she was an influencer for Women Deliver, Deliver for Good campaign, a global effort to empower women and girls in areas such as education, sexual health, human rights, and climate change among others.
Her efforts in championing women's rights earned her the 2013 UN Women National Committee Canada Recognition Award.
2. A Passionate Yogi
She finished her "Radiant Child" kundalini yoga teacher training, a method specifically for children. Justin Trudeau's wife had also been a volunteer yoga teacher at a public school nearby her residence.
According to Liberal, Sophie studied hatha yoga and obtained her certification because of her innate interest and willingness to pursue spirituality.
