A San Diego police officer was arrested on Sunday for charges of sexual battery and false imprisonment, NBC San Diego reported.
Officer Christopher Hays, 30, was taken into custody after his attorney and the District Attorney's Office negotiated a self-surrender. He posted $130,000 bail.
According to NBC, Hays is under investigation for two incidents involving improper pat downs and receiving sexual gratification, and is the second officer from San Diego to be accused of such charges.
In November of 2011, former police officer Anthony Arevalos was convicted of multiple sex crimes while on duty in the city's Gaslamp Quarter. A year after Arevalos' conviction, accusations against Hays began piling up.
San Diego Police Department Chief William Lansdowne said five women have come forward with accusations against Hays so far. Additionally, a sixth woman said he assaulted her and is seeking help from a local attorney.
Lansdowne added that four of the six cases have been filed with the District Attorney's Office.
On the website of the jail Hays was booked at, it states he faces faces two felony counts of false imprisonment with violence and three misdemeanor counts of sexual battery.
After the first victim notified police, an internal investigation led to three other possible victims, the police chief said on Thursday. The last two victims came forward after the story broke.
Dan Gilleon, the attorney representing the sixth woman, said his client -- unlike the rest of the other women -- was a victim of sexual contact.
"It was generally, if you don't do this, I'm going to get you arrested and take you to jail," Gilleon said. "She felt like there was no choice. She gave him oral sex, and he demanded it."
