Moscow and its Ukraine incursions have made World War 3 closer than ever due to the allies' alleged mishandling of Russia's demands about eastern expansion.

The complex issues that began even before the Ukraine conflict have blown over now. All the miscalculations blaming the Kremlin might be partly due to what has boiled down before this moment.

NATO Ignored Threats

President Vladimir Putin has consistently warned the Western alliance that a Ukraine war could escalate to nukes. But the western powers did not heed to avoid what is happening now, reported the Express.

Recently Putin has decided to impose nuclear deterrent forces and nuclear arms to special alert. The movement of the west has gotten too provocative, and Russia's defense is a priority.

The meltdown came as Ukraine did things to provoke a response after all measures to avoid the Kremlin took it. The Russian leader sanctioned a rollout of forces in Donbas and Lugansk via a 'special operation.'

But, the attack would be a conventional war, and nuclear arms will not be used anytime soon, except if red lines are reached.

The western alliance should realize it could be stopped by avoiding specific scenarios that will arise, but it might have been committed.

US, NATO Must Stop Provocations

Aggressive actions made Russia more serious is how western officials drove Putin to go on nuclear alert. Like the provocative pronouncements of the UK Foreign Secretary Liz Truss.

These comments were dangerous but not disclosed and will push Moscow to be concerned about Russian security, fearing a breach would be hazardous enough to cause World War 3.

Last Tuesday, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov clarified that encroaching eastward and placing the weapons in the former Soviet state is a red line to cross.

The Russian news agency, RIA, noted that he warned the western alliance not to have nuclear weapons in certain European countries, including Belgium, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, and Turkey, states the Times of India.

In the middle 1950s, former President Dwight D. Eisenhower gave authorization for North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) allies to house US nuclear warheads.

Ukraine Allegedly Tries To Procure Nukes

In a Geneva disarmament meeting last Tuesday, Lavrov was livid that Kyiv was trying to get over Russia by getting nukes, noted Sky News, calling it a dangerous action that makes things worse. Lavrov gave no documents as proof, but Russia could use it to justify introducing nuclear weapons to the conflict.

Vladimir Putin did not expect a short war, but one week into the battle, the only territory captured was the port of Kherson on March 2.

The Ukrainian claim significant casualties against Soviet forces, but this is not verified as no precise count of actual losses is available.

The Russian troops deployed deadly cluster and vacuum bombs in shock and awe tactics, which are not supposed to be used according to international humanitarian law, according to Amnesty International, stressing at the Kremlin.

Moscow does not want a destructive World War 3, but the NATO alliance has squandered chances to stop it by not doing what Putin wants and keeping Kyiv neutral.
