A conservative think tank is planning an off-the-record gathering of conservative leaders and wealthy donors this week that will be held in Sea Island, Georgia, and is believed to include a Biden White House official and several Trump critics.
Former United States President Donald Trump was not one of the people invited to the event, which will include some of the biggest donors of the GOP. two people who are familiar with the event revealed a few details because they were not authorized to discuss it.
Secretive 'Off-The-Record' Event
The think tank, American Enterprise Institute (AEI), will hold its annual World Forum this year at The Cloister, a high-end hotel complex in Sea Island. The gathering will feature invite-only discussions, meals, and access to miles of private beach.
Nonprofit watchdog, the Center for Public Integrity, which focuses on corruption and abuses of power, has described the event as a "secretive" gathering where industry titans and mega-donors of the Republican party mingle with mostly GOP power players. In the past, attendees of the event included billionaire executives from global manufacturing, energy, and financial companies, as per CBS News who obtained a schedule for this year's forum.
This year's event suggests AEI's has drifted in recent years where it has previously supported aspects of Trump's agenda to many scholars becoming critics of the former president. One of the most recent tirades they condemned from the Republican businessman is his repeated claims of voter fraud in the 2020 elections.

Trump faces an investigation led by the House Select Committee which believes the former president was probably culpable in the commission of several crimes. One of the core accusations of the case is Trump's claims of election fraud, which are believed to be dishonest.
According to the Washington Post, in response to the committee's filing of the case, Trump attorney John Eastman offered the former president's defense. He said that yes, while some people, including some from the Justice Department, believed there was no voter fraud, other presidential advisers have given directly opposing assessments. He argued that there was no way for the Republican businessman to know which was true.
Voter Fraud
Furthermore, former Trump administration chief of staff Mark Meadows, who pushed the debunked claims of voter fraud in the 2020 elections, registered to vote in a rusted, tin-roofed mobile home where he never lived, a new report suggests. If the claim is true, this means that the former White House official is guilty of voter fraud himself.
Neighbors of the mobile home in Appalachia who were listed on Meadows' voter registration said that they have never even seen the lawmaker at the home. Meadows sold his property in Sapphire, North Carolina when he quit his elected position to join the Trump administration and moved to a condo with his wife outside of Washington, D.C.
While he did not buy any new property in the state, he registered to vote in the 11th Congressional District on Sept. 19, 2020. It was at a mobile home on Scaly Mountain, North Carolina, and his move date was listed as Sept. 20, 2020, the Daily Mail reported.
